In Character Information
Name: MiRa (Serial number 131184)
Age: Her body roughly resembles that of an adult human woman. However, she is actually 6 months old.
Birthday & Astrology Sign: April 30, Taurus
Arcana: Chariot
World Snapshot:
MiRa's Earth is much like our own, but with the exceptions of more advanced technology, various extraterrestrial entities, and the Justice Riders. The Justice Riders have been protecting Earth against extraterrestrial threats for decades. They are masked superheroes that come in varying forms, but their true identities are all unknown (at least, outside of the Riders and, occasionally, their families). Each Rider has something called a Morpher, which allows them to transform into their Rider forms (think a Sentai-style transformation) and gain power. Eight years ago, aliens called the Kalcion began to invade Earth, their apparent intent being to conquer the planet. The main story with the current Riders takes place in the present day. The invasions were small scale at first, but as time went on, they began to escalate till the generals of the armies themselves were making visits to Earth and bringing squads of foot soldiers with them.
The Justice Riders follow a Code of Justice, which is as follows:
">A Justice Rider must keep his or her identity a secret from those who aren't Riders.
>A Justice Rider must swear not to abuse his or her powers when not combatting evil.
>A Justice Rider must keep his or her Justice Morpher with him or her at all times.
>A Justice Rider must keep the secrets of the Riders safe.
>A Justice Rider must not harm the innocent."
Backstory:
MiRa was built 6 months prior to the main story as the first in a series of combat-oriented androids to be used in emergencies. Her model was based off of GiGi's (the robotic "secretary" of the riders); the thought was that GiGi's line would be support-oriented while MiRa's line would handle the combat. When MiRa was born, Dr. Seymour Phineas (the head scientist of the Riders and a former Rider himself) made it quite clear that, despite how advanced her AI was, she was not a human, she was a robot, and she was built to be a weapon. He said these things so often that it sank in quite deeply, resulting in MiRa's current disposition. Since MiRa was the first in the line, she was given the honor of being an actual Justice Rider. (She does realize that this means that her "younger sisters" will essentially just be foot soldiers, and she's not too happy about that.) She will essentially be the leader of her own Justice Squad of androids someday.
In a recent battle, three Kalcion generals- Ralder Gilgamesh, Vallick Etherbatch, and Sevaline Oleander- arrived and began to search for the Riders' base, endangering civilians in the process. Sevaline was captured by the Riders but escaped, and Ralder was killed in a massive Titan form when the Riders fighting him used a combined Mecha-style robot called a Megazord (composed of smaller Mecha-style robots called Zords) to blast him to oblivion with a giant laser. Vallick simply retreated. MiRa was in stasis for updates and upgrades during this battle, so wasn't there for it (though she was caught up on what happened).
The next day, a Renegade Rider named Seiichi Kawaguchi made his appearance. Branded a Renegade for having killed a Rider (and numerous others) 5 years prior, the alert went out very quickly once he was spotted by his younger brother, Hayate Kawaguchi. He called Kenshin Ichirou, the Crimson Rider and current leader of the Riders, and left a barely-veiled threat: either Kenshin would make a deal with him, or he would stake out on his own and mete out his own questionable justice... and kill any Riders that came after him for getting in the way of his "justice." Numerous riders pursued him and were badly injured; the one who put a stop to him was none other than GiGi, the android who served as a sort of secretary to the Riders. She stole a Morpher from Dr. Seymour Phineas, the original Platinum Rider and now the head scientist of the Riders, and used it to gain a Rider form of her own.
MiRa was finally brought out of stasis once the battle was over. She was less than pleased that she got to miss the fight and repeatedly told GiGi that she should have "yanked her out of the update chamber and sent her to fight instead." GiGi was officially accepted as a Rider, much to MiRa's mixed feelings.
The day after that, more generals still made their attack on the city: the honor-obsessed Gohra Kanorath, the brutal Rorush Degenick, the brilliant and cold technomancer Helaine Eractus... and a reprise from Sevaline herself. MiRa fought Sevaline in a tense, laser-filled battle, eventually being joined by the Transparent Rider, Raphael Vazio. With the help of the Transparent Rider's passive strength boosts, it seemed like Sevaline would be on the ropes... till she was ordered to retreat along with the other generals. Unfortunately, the Morpher of the Orange Rider, Yutaka Uezama, was stolen when none other than Malchior Oleander, the Kalcion Prince, appeared, deciding to just do the job himself. This resulted in a defeat for the Riders, and the Riders returned to the base to discuss what had happened as the Kalcion escaped with the Morpher.
The next day was largely uneventful (for a given value of uneventful). MiRa, bored out of her mind, had begun doodling. She got so absorbed in it that she missed the announcement that Seiichi Kawaguchi (the Silver Rider) had been captured by his younger brother (the Purple Rider). While she was initially distraught over having missed the chance to fight, MiRa just shrugged and continued her drawing. When she finished, Ayako Tanaka, the artistically-gifted Yellow Rider, came in from the Ramen festival that occurred that day and praised the work. She promised to help MiRa color it when she could. Soon after this meeting, though, MiRa would have a lapse in consciousness, and the man in the butterfly mask would visit her...
Canon Standing: The day after her battle with Sevaline.
Personality:
MiRa is painfully aware that she's not human, and she's very, very bitter about it. She's prone to lots of snark, some passive-aggression, and a good deal of sarcasm. She can be friendly, but her general stance on things is "I'm a robot. Why should you care about me?" She knows she was built to be a weapon, and that makes her bitter too. "I'm just a weapon, a tool. Why should you care about me?" It can be inferred that she's a pessimist, particularly regarding how she expects other people to treat her. It also follows that she has some poor self worth or self-esteem; she barely even cares about being killed because she can just be replaced (or rebuilt and restored from a memory backup). As a side note, the irony is not lost on her that she's the Blood Red Rider yet has no real blood.
Despite her feelings on being built as a weapon, MiRa is proud of her battle prowess. She brags to GiGi that she doesn't even need to transform into a Rider form to fight. She hasn't had much opportunity to use her quick-draw powers recently, but knowing that she can still fight if separated from her Morpher or in another dire situation where she can't transform gives her confidence. Battle was what she was built for, she's good at it, and that makes her happy. She finds the idea of being put into certain other roles highly degrading; for example, a very fast way to earn her ire is to suggest that she become a robot maid (but maybe, with some pleading and incentives, she just might agree to the proposition. Maybe)
While she's not too reluctant to serve humans (it's what she was built to do, anyway), sometimes it does rub her the wrong way. It's partly because of the way people like Dr. Phineas treat her that makes her a bit standoffish towards humans; if someone tries to give her the "you're a person too!" speech, she'll just scoff at it and brush it off, thoroughly not believing in it. Her line of choice is "You're human, and I'm a combat robot. Why should you care?" For lack of a better way to describe it, MiRa can be a bit "tsundere" towards humans. She might behave bitterly or snappish towards them at times, but she can also quickly decide to be helpful or go along with a human's scheme. She was built to serve humans, after all, and so she will most likely help out after some grumbling. Some part of her wants to be human, but she's not entirely sure what she would do if she became human.
Regarding her fellow androids GiGi and NIA, MiRa clearly favors them over the humans. GiGi is the closest thing she has to a cousin or a sister, and so she deeply respects her. However, ever since GiGi officially became a Justice Rider, MiRa has begun to feel resentment towards the older unit. As far as she's concerned, she is the combat unit, and GiGi should be staying back at the base. She harbors a real fear of being rendered obsolete by GiGi; as she sees it, if GiGi replaces her purpose, she loses all reason she has to exist. She is the combat unit, she was built as a weapon. If she can't be a weapon anymore, what can she be? As for NIA, she doesn't take the young android very seriously. NIA will always be "kid" or "kiddo" to her, given her youth and complete lack of knowledge of the world around her (never mind that MiRa isn't very old herself).
A peculiar new desire for art seems to be budding in MiRa. She currently dismisses it as useless due to it being irrelevant to combat, but who knows what having a talent outside of battling will do for her?
Canon Powers:
- Lasers. In her normal robot form, she can summon up to three illusionary "blasters" that shoot rapid-pulse lasers. These lasers lack the versatility and strength of the ones she uses in her Rider form.
In her Rider form, she has eight "blades" that can either be used for physical attacking or shooting lasers. These lasers can do various things: rapid-fire, constant fire, shooting orbs that burst into smaller orbs, charge up to fire one massive laser... things like that. Battles can almost turn into Danmaku (curtain fire/those games where there are BULLETS EVERYWHERE and you have to dodge them) matches because of how many lasers she can have zipping around at any given time.
- Barriers. MiRa can form barriers between any two of her "blades." Using more blades makes the barrier stronger. Chiefly MiRa uses these for defending herself, but in the battle with Sevaline, she did use them to try and block Sevaline from dodging.
- Self-diagnosis and repair. MiRa has built-in self-diagnostic sensors that alert her to damage or unusual statuses. She also has a decent self-repair system that can patch up minor wounds. Larger wounds or entire missing limbs, however, will probably require outside repair (make that probably a definitely on the "missing limbs" part).
Canon Weapons|Items:
The only thing she will probably bring with her (aside from clothes) is her Justice Morpher.
Canon Allies:
None.
Canon Baggage:
As said above, she'll be bringing her Justice Morpher, some clothes, and that'll probably be it. Also, she may bring the picture she drew the day after the fight with Sevaline with her as well.

[MiRa glowers at the camera as best as she can. Can't say that she wasn't given good facial motors.] Hmph. Look at all of you, playing around in the snow, drinking hot chocolate, doing whatever it is people do. I can feel cold too, you know. Kind of. I mean, I sort of have touch sensors, but I don't think they work the same way human nerves do. They're mostly for sensing pressure, damage, and types of temperature. I don't know. Do I actually feel hot or cold? I guess it doesn't matter anyway. Never mind.
You know what I can't do, though? Taste. Or feel hungry, for that matter. Like hell Dr. Phineas would bother creating digestive systems for us. Actually, maybe that's not so bad. The process of digestion is kind of... gross. As are a lot of things that go on in the human body. I guess I'm glad I'm inorganic today. Though I do wonder what it's like to taste sometimes... you humans look so happy when you're eating with others. The Chikyu Academy cafeteria is always so full of chattering students, though from what I've heard, cafeteria food is crap anyway. Maybe it's not the food that makes people happy? How should I know, it's not like I can eat... [Grumble grumble.]
I've got a few more questions for you, just out of curiosity. If you're human, would you want to be anything else? And if you're not human, would you like to be human? As for me... uh... I don't really know. What would I even do if I suddenly became human, anyway? I might lose my powers, and that'd suck. [There's some more grumbling, and MiRa shrugs.] I don't think I want to think about this right now. Geez, why did I even bring this up if I don't want to think about it myself? That was stupid.
You know what? Just forget this entire message. I'll probably just delete it later or something. Go back to whatever it was you were doing. Bye.
